The red-billed queleas are the most numerous birds in the world. There are more than 100,000 million of these birds living in the grasslands of Africa.
Longest Flier
The Arctic tern flies the longest distance of any bird, from the Arctic north to Antarctica near the South Pole.

The bee hummingbird is the smallest bird in the world. It is 6.2 centimeters (about 2 inches) long, and weighs about 1.6 grams (0.004 pounds).
Swimmers and Divers
The penguins of Antarctica are the fastest swimmers and deepest divers. Most of them can dive to depths of over 400 meters (about 0.2 miles) and swim at speeds of up to 15 kilometers (about 9 miles) per hour. The Gentoo penguin is the fastest underwater swimming penguin. It can swim at a speed of up to 36 kilometers (about 22 miles) per hour. The Emperor penguin can stay underwater for 11 minutes, which is the longest duration of all birds, during a dive.
