Rainforest Birds

Rainforest Birds

Rainforests are warm, dense evergreen forests that receive a lot of rainfall throughout the year. The rainforests of the Amazon and Indonesia are home to almost 50 percent of all birds in the world. Many bright and colorful birds also inhabit the rainforests of Australia.

Toucan

Toucans are brightly colored birds found in the rainforests of South America. They have a short, rounded body and a beak. In some species of toucans, the beaks are almost half the size of their bodies.

Macaw

Macaws are the largest members of the parrot family. They are covered with blue, red, yellow or green colored feathers. They are found in the forest of South America, Central America, and Mexico.

Laughing kookaburra

Laughing kookaburras are the largest members of the kingfisher family. They are found in the forest and open woodlands of Australia.
