    Amphibians

Amphibians begin life as water-breathing animals, and then in maturity evolve into an air-breathing animal. Amphibians are also cold-blooded animals, meaning they rely on external, environmental heat sources, such as the Sun, to control their body temperature. Examples of amphibians include frogs, toads, salamanders, newts, and caecilians. Most amphibians have four limbs, although the
caecilians are limbless. Unlike other land vertebrates, most amphibians lay eggs in water. Many amphibians are appear quite similar in appearance to reptiles.
